The Litchfield Area Community Foundation popcorn stand will be open in Central Park Thursdays and Fridays from 5-to-8 p.m. beginning MAY 14^th and continuing through September 25^th.

Meeker Area Partners in Prevention is once again hosting a summer scavenger hunt.  The 7^th annual event officially begins on June 1^st and will conclude on September 11^th.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy various summer activities under the categories of Fun in the Sun, Get Active, Fun at the Fair, Feed Your Soul, and Be Kind. The completed game cards can be turned in to the Meeker County Health & Human Services office at 114 North Holcombe Avenue in Litchfield.  Winners will be drawn on September 15^th and will be notified by phone.

The Angel Dress Program of All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin will have its 2nd Annual Garage Sale at Lake Marion Ballroom August 5^th, 6^th and 7^th from 9-to-5 and August 8^th from 9-to-2.  They are looking for donations of garage sale items (no large furniture, no large appliances and no electronics), plants, baked goods, gift cards and baskets. Call Gayle Maurer at 320-582-0156 or Patty Hauer at 320-420-3290 for drop off or pick up locations.  The event in August will also include a basket drawing, raffle drawing, and hot dogs, beverages and snacks to purchase.

The Litchfield Rotary Club is collecting new and gently used shoes from now through August 15^th to raise money for the Beds for Kids Project.  Drop off sites include the Litchfield Library, Litchfield Chiropractic, Fieldgate Cheese store, Walmart and several area churches.

The dates for filing affidavits of candidacy for election for the Litchfield School Board are JULY 14^th through JULY 28^th.  Candidates must file by 5 p.m. on JULY 28^th in the Litchfield School District office in the Wagner Education Building on East 6^th Street.  There is a $2 filing fee.

Blood drives will be held on Monday, JULY 20^th from noon-to-6 p.m. – at the Cosmos City Center and at the Darwin City/Townhall.  To make appointments, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, go to redcrossblood.org.

Litchfield Community Theatre presents “Mary Poppins July 23, 24^th and 25^th at 7 p.m. and on JULY 26^th at 2 p.m. in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium.  Tickets are $20 for the lower level and $15 for the upper level.  Tickets are available at litchfieldcommunitytheatre.com/tickets.

The FungusAmongus Players of Dassel-Cokato present “Newsies” July 24^th & 25^th at 7 p.m. and JULY 26^th at 2 p.m. in the Dassel-Cokato Performing Arts Center.  Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students, and $5 for children 12 and under.  For tickets in advance, go to fungusamongusplayers.org.

The next open house at the Little Red Schoolhouse – south of Litchfield – will be on Saturday, JULY 25^th from 10-to-2.  Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch.

The Songs of Summer Festival will be held on Friday, August 14^th at Memorial Park on Lake Ripley in Litchfield.  Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the music begins at 5.  There will be three bands – Vintage Revival, South 40 and Shirts & Skins.  There will be food and beverage vendors.  No coolers allowed.  Bring your lawn chairs.  It’s a free event, but freewill donations will be accepted.

The Lil’ Round Lake Association 2026 annual cash raffle will be on Saturday, September 12^th at the Litchfield Eagles Club with lunch and door prizes starting at 12 p.m. and the drawing at 2 p.m.  The grand prize is $5,000.  Each ticket is $50 and only 300 are sold.  Tickets are available from lake association members, at Center Insurance Solutions or call Kyle at 320-815-2481.
