The Litchfield Area Community Foundation popcorn stand will be open in Central Park Thursdays and Fridays from 5-to-8 p.m. beginning MAY 14^th and continuing through September 25^th.

Meeker Area Partners in Prevention is once again hosting a summer scavenger hunt.  The 7^th annual event officially begins on June 1^st and will conclude on September 11^th.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy various summer activities under the categories of Fun in the Sun, Get Active, Fun at the Fair, Feed Your Soul, and Be Kind. The completed game cards can be turned in to the Meeker County Health & Human Services office at 114 North Holcombe Avenue in Litchfield.  Winners will be drawn on September 15^th and will be notified by phone.

The Litchfield Rotary Club is collecting new and gently used shoes from now through August 15^th to raise money for the Beds for Kids Project.  Drop off sites include the Litchfield Library, Litchfield Chiropractic, Fieldgate Cheese store, Walmart and several area churches.

The 77^th annual Cokato Corn Carnival is on August 10^th, 11^th and 12^th in Peterson Park.  The parade is Monday at 6 p.m., the coronation is on Tuesday at 8 p.m. and the Mid-Minnesota Concert Band performs Wednesday at 7 p.m., followed by Airborne Attraction.  Corn-on-the-cob is served on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-to-8 p.m.  The cash and car raffle drawing will be on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. For a complete schedule, go to cokatocorncarnival.com.

The Cardiac Support Group will meet on Tuesday, August 11^th from 2-to-3 p.m. at the Litchfield Public Library.

A blood drive will be held at St. Philip’s Church in Litchfield on Monday, August 13^th, from 12:30-to-6:30 p.m.  To make an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, go to redcrossblood.org.

The Songs of Summer Festival will be held on Friday, August 14^th at Memorial Park on Lake Ripley in Litchfield.  Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the music begins at 5.  There will be three bands – Vintage Revival, South 40 and Shirts & Skins.  There will be food and beverage vendors.  No coolers allowed.  Bring your lawn chairs.  It’s a free event, but freewill donations will be accepted.

The 38^th annual Forest City Threshers show will be on August 15^th and 16^th from 8-to-5 each day.  Oliver is the featured equipment.  There’s breakfast each day from 7:30-to-9:30, a roast beef dinner each day from 11-to-2, a noon tractor parade, followed by tractor pulls, a kid’s pedal pull Sunday at 10:30 and much more.

Again & Again in Dassel and Again & Again Too in Litchfield will have a Cozy Autumn Days shopping event on Saturday, August 15^th from 9:30-to-3:30. 

The 43^rd annual Forest City Stockade Rendezvous is on August 15^th and 16^th from 10-to-5 each day.  There will be all kinds of pioneer foods and demonstrations and much more.  Admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

The Mission BBQ at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City is on Tuesday, August 25^th, from 5:30-to-7:30 p.m.  The menu includes BBQ pulled pork sandwiches, sweet corn, homemade baked beans, chips, bars and beverages.  The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for students, free for children under 5 and $30 per family.  Take-outs will be available.  There will be meat and basket raffles.  Proceeds will go to the Grove City Area CARE program.

The Little Red Schoolhouse – south of Litchfield – will have its annual picnic on Wednesday, August 26^th from 5-to-7 p.m.  Food and beverages will be served for freewill donations.

The Lil’ Round Lake Association 2026 annual cash raffle will be on Saturday, September 12^th at the Litchfield Eagles Club with lunch and door prizes starting at 12 p.m. and the drawing at 2 p.m.  The grand prize is $5,000.  Each ticket is $50 and only 300 are sold.  Tickets are available from lake association members, at Center Insurance Solutions or call Kyle at 320-815-2481.
