The Litchfield Area Community Foundation popcorn stand will be open in Central Park Thursdays and Fridays from 5-to-8 p.m. beginning MAY 14^th and continuing through September 25^th.

Meeker Area Partners in Prevention is once again hosting a summer scavenger hunt.  The 7^th annual event officially begins on June 1^st and will conclude on September 11^th.

Participants are encouraged to enjoy various summer activities under the categories of Fun in the Sun, Get Active, Fun at the Fair, Feed Your Soul, and Be Kind. The completed game cards can be turned in to the Meeker County Health & Human Services office at 114 North Holcombe Avenue in Litchfield.  Winners will be drawn on September 15^th and will be notified by phone.

The Angel Dress Program of All Saints Lutheran Church in Darwin will have its 2nd Annual Garage Sale at Lake Marion Ballroom August 5^th, 6^th and 7^th from 9-to-5 and August 8^th from 9-to-2.  They are looking for donations of garage sale items (no large furniture, no large appliances and no electronics), plants, baked goods, gift cards and baskets. Call Gayle Maurer at 320-582-0156 or Patty Hauer at 320-420-3290 for drop off or pick up locations.  The event in August will also include a basket drawing, raffle drawing, and hot dogs, beverages and snacks to purchase.

Music in Litchfield’s Central Park on Thursday, July 2^nd from 6-to-8 p.m. will be the Willmar Barbershop Chorus performing 250 years of American music.

An America 250 Celebration will be held at Friederich’s Park in Eden Valley on Thursday, JULY 2^nd with food and activities at 5:30 p.m. and a program at 6:15 and live music – featuring Lowertown Project – from 6:15-to-8 p.m.  Bring your lawn chairs.

A blood drive will be held at Ecumen of Litchfield on Tuesday, JULY 7^th, from 10-to-4.  To make appointments, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to RedCrossBlood.org.

The Litchfield Area Mentorship Program will have a drive-through pork chop supper on Tuesday, JULY 7^th from 4:30-to-6:30 p.m. near the Fieldgate Pavilion on West Depot Street in Litchfield.

A come-and-go open house for 2024-25 Miss Litchfield and reigning Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes Addie Lundin will be held on Saturday, JULY 11^th from 9-to-11 a.m. at the Litchfield Opera House.  Refreshments will be served.  Everyone is welcome.

The Friends of the Litchfield Library have their Watercade book sale on Saturday, July 11th from 10-to-2. They offer quality used books at reasonable prices. The sale will be their biggest ever, featuring biography, history, and science non-fiction, as well as fiction, blind date books, and $1 grab bags.

The dates for filing affidavits of candidacy for election for the Litchfield School Board are JULY 14^th through JULY 28^th.  Candidates must file by 5 p.m. on JULY 28^th in the Litchfield School District office in the Wagner Education Building on East 6^th Street.  There is a $2 filing fee.

The Meeker County Master Gardeners’ Garden Tour will be on Tuesday, JULY 14^th, from 5-to-8:30 p.m.  For ticket or more information, call the Extension office at 693-5275.  Tickets are available in advance for $10 at the Extension office, Stockmen’s Greenhouse and at KLFD.  A bus ride is available for an additional fee – departing from the Civic Arena at 5 p.m. JULY 14^th – if you sign up by July 3^rd.  The 5 gardens this year are in southeastern Meeker County between Dassel and Hutchinson.

The Lil’ Round Lake Association 2026 annual cash raffle will be on Saturday, September 12^th at the Litchfield Eagles Club with lunch and door prizes starting at 12 p.m. and the drawing at 2 p.m.  The grand prize is $5,000.  Each ticket is $50 and only 300 are sold.  Tickets are available from lake association members, at Center Insurance Solutions or call Kyle at 320-815-2481.
