“A Rock & Roll Christmas Story” Christmas Concert
The Litchfield Lions Club is presenting a Christmas concert on December 19th at 7:30 p.m. in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium. A Rock & Roll Christmas Story will be performed by the Gabby Road Project.
One of the 9 members of the band is Jeff Shaw, son of Litchfield native Mike Shaw – one of the founding members of Shaw Allen Shaw. Terry Shaw, who was the drummer for Shaw Allen Shaw, says Jeff plays drums and sings – both for the Shaw Brothers Band and for the Gabby Road Project – and he and his wife saw the show last year before Christmas. He says it’s just as good or better than anything he’s seen in Branson, Missouri.
Shaw says the Gabby Road Project is like a super group consisting of musicians from several other bands. He says they will perform familiar Christmas songs, but in a rock ’n’ roll format.
Lions member Keith Johnson says tickets for the show are $30 and for this caliber of a show, it would be way more expensive in St. Cloud or the Twin Cities, and, after expenses, the proceeds will be donated to the Meeker Area Food Shelf. He says the concert would be a great way for employers to treat their employees as part of their Christmas party.
Johnson says he saw the show last year in St. Michael-Albertville and it was excellent, with a full light show too. He says you can order tickets from the QR code on their posters or go to the Litchfield Lions Faceboook page for a link.
