KLFD Radio (AM 1410 / FM 95.9) runs klfdradio.com. This page explains what information the website collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to answer you, run our listener features and send the newsletter you sign up for. We do not sell your personal information.

Information you give us

Contact form. Your name, email address and message, so we can read and answer it. The message is emailed to our staff and also kept on the website.
Birthday & Anniversary Club nominations. Your first and last name, phone number and email address, the occasion and date, the name of the person you are nominating and your message. We use this to run the club and may read the nominee’s name and occasion on the air. Please only nominate people who would be happy to be mentioned.
Email newsletter. Your email address, to send you KLFD news. The newsletter is sent with Mailchimp (Intuit), which stores your address for us. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Emails to us. When you email us, for example to send an event to events@klfdradio.com, we use what you send to answer you and, for events, to add them to our community calendar.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like any website, the server that hosts klfdradio.com records basic technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies. The website itself only sets cookies for our staff when they sign in to update the site. Google Analytics and Google AdSense (below) set their own cookies.
Embedded content from other websites. Some pages include content from other services, such as YouTube videos, Facebook posts, the weather radar map, Google Maps directions and “Add to Google Calendar” links. That content behaves exactly as if you visited the other website, and those services may collect information about you and use their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Visitor statistics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your browser and device, and your approximate location. It does not tell us who you are. Advertising. Besides ads for our local sponsors, the site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and newsletter (our web host, Mailchimp, our email provider and Google for statistics and ads, as described above), or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep form messages and nominations only as long as we need them for the purpose you sent them, and newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link in any newsletter email.
Ask us for a copy of the information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@klfdradio.com or calling 320.693.3281.
Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings. The site works without cookies.

Children

klfdradio.com is meant for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to submitted information is limited to KLFD staff who need it. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
