Habitat for Humanity Fundraiser in Litchfield
Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota has a fundraising event at the Litchfield Eagles Club on Saturday from 5-to-8 p.m. Diamondback will be performing and there will be appetizers and bucket raffle items.
Executive Director Kayla Klein says Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota serves 5 counties – Meeker, Kandiyohi, Renville, Chippewa and Swift – and is headquartered in Willmar. She says they are hoping to start construction on a house in Litchfield next week near Walmart.
Klein says they usually build one house in each county each year, depending on the availability of lots and sometimes they remodel existing houses. She says the family that will be living in the home needs to help with the project and right now, applications for the Litchfield house are still open.
Klein says they are always looking for volunteers to help with the building of their houses and there are people in charge of each project that will show you what to do, so any skill levels are welcome. She says donations are always welcome too, and you can get more information about applying for a house, volunteering to help with construction or about donations on the website habitatwcm.org.
