Hunting Accident in Forest City Township
On Monday morning at 7:05 A.M., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a hunting accident in the 29000 block of County Road 14 in Forest City Township. Meeker County Sheriff’s Deputies, Meeker County Community Paramedic, MN DNR, Litchfield Rescue and Mayo Ambulance all responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies learned three 16-year-old males were duck hunting from a boat on Powers Lake. The three hunters shot at a group of ducks when one of the hunters dropped his shotgun. The shotgun discharged upon landing.

The other two hunters called 911 and provided medical care, which included applying an improvised tourniquet to the injured leg. Crowe was transported by Mayo Ambulance to Meeker Memorial Hospital. He was then transferred by air ambulance to North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. This incident remains under investigation.
