Litchfield City Council Helping with Light Up Litchfield
The Litchfield City Council had a visit Monday evening from Deana Wheeler and Monica Schreiber representing the Litchfield Visitors Bureau. They presented information about the Light Up Litchfield efforts in Central Park for the upcoming holiday season.
Mayor Ron Dingmann says the Council resolved to help the Committee with labor and electrical work and to kick in any shortfall that they experience in their attempt to raise $5,000 to decorate one of the deciduous trees with lights. He says there will be carriage rides and other activities on November 19th leading up to the lighting ceremony at 5:45 p.m.
Mayor Dingmann says the Council approved of a low bid for the Swift Avenue/Ripley Street project on Monday evening. He says C & L Excavating of St. Joseph had the low bid of $3,076,403.20.
Mayor Dingmann says the Council approved of a couple of amendments in the contract with the Western Area Power Administration; and appointed Hannah Sheppard to the Library Board. He says the Council also approved of a 5% increase from last year for the Pioneerland Library which will result in an appropriation of $182,171 in the City’s 2027 budget.
