Litchfield City Council Meeting
The Litchfield City Council has approved of a low bid from C & L Excavating of St. Joseph for the Swift Avenue/Ripley Street project. The low bid was $3,076,403.20.
City Engineer Chuck DeWolf says 12 bids were opened on October 1st. He says the low bid came in under the engineer’s estimate of $3,400,000. The bid approval is contingent upon other government funding coming in for the project.
The Council approved of amendments to the city’s contract with the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), and approved of $182,171 for the Pioneerland Library in the 2027 budget. The Council also appointed Hannah Sheppard to the Library Board.
The Council received an update last night from Jesse Turck of 4594 Design regarding the downtown façade grant program. The Litchfield City Council also had a presentation by Deana Wheeler and Monica Schreiber from the Litchfield Visitors Bureau’s Light Up Litchfield Committee regarding decorations for Central Park this holiday season. The Council approved of the City filling in whatever dollar amount the Committee may be short in its goal of raising $5,000 to light up a deciduous tree in the park.
