Litchfield City Council New Ordinance Streamlines Building Inspection Process

The Litchfield City Council held a public hearing Monday evening regarding ordinance #841 which repealed and replaced a couple of older ordinances. The new ordinance streamlines the building inspection process.

Mayor Ron Dingmann says the new ordinance will allow the City’s new building inspector – Rum River – to do plumbing inspections. He says the Council also approved of the sale of $3,180,000 in general obligation bonds as Northland Securities had the low true interest rate of 4.0131% and the funds will be used for the Swift Avenue/Ripley Street project and the Johnson Drive/260th Street project.

Mayor Dingmann says the Council received information Monday evening about the Minnesota Management & Budget office being satisfied with the City’s agreement with the Litchfield School District for the Litchfield Area Recreation Center which will finally free up the $6-million dollars from the State of MN for the LARC project which should arrive in the next month or two. He says the Council also received information Monday evening about the urgency of a window replacement project at the G.A.R. Hall.

Mayor Dingmann says the Litchfield City Council approved of rental rates for the 6 new hangars at the Municipal Airport. He says the Council also voted 5-to-1 to replace 4 of the City’s flag poles with new ones which will be done by Coil’s Flag of St. Cloud for $38,350.
