Litchfield School District Celebrating Homecoming Week
It’s homecoming week in the Litchfield School District. Dress up days are being held with various themes, special sporting events are taking place – culminating with a football game tomorrow evening, and the coronation of a new king and queen will take place tomorrow afternoon.
Superintendent Susan Burris says homecoming week seemed to sneak up quickly as the school year has already been underway for about a month. She says 98% of parents of Lake Ripley Elementary students participated in the welcome conferences they had during back-to-school week, and there are 65% of the students participating in the breakfast program.
Burris says the Litchfield Middle School has 42 students involved in Student Council and they will be attending leadership training next Tuesday at the LARC. She says school district officials are busy getting the word out this fall about the levy and referendum questions which will be on the ballot in November, and much of the bond referendum that they are hoping to pass would address updates that are needed in the Wagner building.
