Litchfield School District Registration Opens July 20th
The first month of the summer break from school is nearly gone and students and parents can already get prepared soon for the next school year. Online registration opens July 20th and some of the students will already be back in school by September 1st.
Superintendent Susan Burris says all students will be back by September 3rd. She says there’s the new Bound fee system for student athletic and activity participants and for purchasing tickets to games and other events.
Burris says there was a recognition program at the end of this past school year for retirees and others leaving the Litchfield School District, and she also presented some fun facts at the program. She says 252,560 meals were served in the last school year; there were 130 athletic events, 19 fine arts events; and 11 major weather events.
Burris says the Litchfield School Board is looking towards November with the possibility of placing two questions before voters regarding and operations levy and a capital projects levy and the questions will be fine-tuned at the July 13th meeting. She says the operating revenue would allow the District to maintain what it now offers without having to make major reductions, and a capital levy would address various improvement that are needed, especially for the Wagner building.
Burris says people can find more information on the Litchfield School District website. She says there will be a link on the website by mid-July with specific information about the November ballot questions.
