Meeker County Board Meeting
The Meeker County Board of Commissioners has approved of health rates for 2027 for non-union employees. Human Resources Director Mikkell Johnson says the rates from Prime Health will increase on average 7.8%. She says the rate increase the previous year was 7.5%.
The Board – serving as the County Ditch Authority – has approved of a tree removal project for County Ditch 15. Wuetherich Drainage, Inc. of Hamburg had the low quote of $44,839. A technology update for the County Board meeting room was also approved. Bluum Technology of St. Paul had the low quote for that project of $46,241.96.
The Meeker County Board of Commissioners has moved to approve the application for a conditional use permit to construct a 265-foot-tall telecommunications tower for Great Plains Tower. It’s in Section 9 of Danielson Township on land owned by Scott & Nyla Stafford.
The Board also moved to approve of a conditional use permit for a vehicle and medium duty equipment sales business in Section 3 of Litchfield Township, with the conditions, for owners Paul Baum and Bryan Danielson. The property is just east of Safe Basements.
A conditional use permit was approved to move more than ten cubic yards of material within the Shore Impact Zone and fifty cubic yards of material in the Shore Land District of the Natural Environmental classed Star Lake, with the conditions for the owner – Roseen Family Trust – by Nagel Landscaping.
The Commissioners moved to approve the application for a conditional use permit to move more than ten cubic yards of material within the Shore Impact Zone and fifty cubic yards of material in the Shore Land District of the Recreational Development classed Lake Manuella, with conditions for owners Holly & Alex Ellram by Matt Timm Landskaping.
A conditional use permit was also approved to move more than ten cubic yards of material within the Shore Impact Zone and fifty cubic yards of material in the Shore Land District of the General Development Lake Washington, with conditions for Terry & Jenna O’Brien by Matt Timm Landskaping.
The Meeker County Board also moved to approve the change of the county’s canvassing board date from November 13 to November 6, 2026, to be in compliance with the change to the statute requiring the canvassing board to meet between three and eight days after the November general election. The Commissioners also had a visit from District 17A State Representative Dawn Gillman of Dassel.
