Meeker Memorial Hospital Ground Breaking
A ground-breaking ceremony took place at Meeker Memorial Hospital yesterday as the work on the 3-story, over $50-million project gets underway. Several local officials and hospital employees were on hand for the ceremony.
Meeker Memorial COO Suzanne Hanson, CEO Mary Ellen Wells and Paul Johnson – representing both the hospital board and the Meeker County Commissioners spoke before the actual ceremony. Members of RJM Construction, hospital board members, Meeker County Commissioners and other stake-holders were introduced and Johnson recapped the hospital’s history.
Several dignitaries and hospital employees then took turns posing with hard hats and golden shovels and scooped soil on the south side of the hospital. Highway 22 along the east side of the hospital will be closed for the next several days as the old wing of the hospital is razed and preparations are made for the new addition to Meeker Memorial Hospital.
