Nelson Farm Pumpkin Patch Festival Opens this Weekend
The 37th annual Pumpkin Patch Festival at the Nelson Farm – south of Litchfield – will begin this weekend. It will continue weekends and during the MEA break through October 25th.
Don Nelson says it will be bittersweet this year as it will be the first year without his wife, Sonja, who passed away 11 months ago. He says they’ve added some new things this year including an escape room, a crow’s nest where you can look out and see the whole farm, and a ninja cart.
Nelson says there are pony rides, a gift shop, concession stands, farm animals and much more. He says the pumpkin crop turned out well this year, and the corn maze will honor the 250th birthday of America.
Nelson says there’s a different theme each weekend beginning with Grandparents Weekend and ending with Military Weekend and you can find a complete schedule at nelsonfarm.com. He says he’d like to thank everyone who has attended the Pumpkin Patch Festival over the years. It’s open Saturdays and during the MEA break (Oct. 15 & 16) from 11:01-to-5:01 p.m. and Sundays from 12:01-to-5:01 p.m.
