Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee Update
The Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee met Tuesday evening. The Committee is getting ready to send a group of delegates to Hartford, Alabama – Litchfield’s sister city – for the annual exchange trip November 7th through the 14th.
This year’s delegates to Alabama will include Meeker County Dairy Princess Claudia Frenchick and her mother, Amy, along with Litchfield FFA students Joe Barka and Desirae Polzin and their chaperones – Terri Anderson and Tyler Burgess. Claudia and Amy will be staying with Charlie & Brenda Skinner. Terri will be hosted by Jeanna Brannon and Bob Nelson. Desirae will stay with Addie Austin. Tyler will be hosted by Nathan Parker and Joe will be hosted by Porter Miller and Jase Turner. Tyler and Joe will be staying at the Miller Claybank House.
Peanut Butter & Milk Festival President Terri Anderson gave her fellow travelers some advice about what clothing to pack for the trip as they will be attending church with their hosts and will be attending an FFA banquet and will spend a day at the beach. She said this year’s group will be touring Fort Rucker – something that has been off limits to the Minnesota visitors ever since 9/11.
The Peanut Butter & Milk Festival in 2027 has been scheduled for January 30th through February 6th, and the Committee is already getting ideas together about tours and other events for that special week. The next Peanut Butter & Milk Festival Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, November 17th, at 7 p.m. in the Litchfield High School Ag Room. The Alabama travelers will share highlights of their trip at that time. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and to get involved in the Committee.
