Round Lake Association Raffle & Picnic
The Round Lake Association has its annual raffle and picnic on Saturday, September 12th at the Litchfield Eagles Club, beginning at noon. Three hundred cash raffle tickets were being sold at $50 each and there are only about 40 of them left.
Marla Thissen says the Round Lake Association usually held this event in June each year at the lake, but decided to have it in September this year and to have it at the Litchfield Eagles Club. She says they started doing this in 2019 as a way to raise funds to help clean up the lake.
Thissen says Round Lake is a shallow lake with the deepest part being about 8 and a half feet. She says their first project was to get an aerator installed at the lake in the winter months.
Kyle Joramo says the aerator requires upkeep and it takes funds to pay for the electricity to keep it running in the winter months. He says other projects at the lake in recent years have included installation of a port-a-potty at the boat landing and a weed board.
Joramo says they will have lots of raffle prizes – especially for children – during their picnic because one of their goals is to keep kids interested in fishing. He says if anyone would like a raffle ticket, he has them at Kyle’s Auto or you can contact Ben & Marla Thissen, or Julie Spanos at Insurance Solutions. The top 6 cash raffle prizes will be $5,000, $1,000, $500, $250, $150 and $100.
