Round Lake Picnic & Raffle

The Round Lake Picnic is coming up this Saturday at noon at the Litchfield Eagles Club. There will be hot dogs and chips, all kinds of door prizes, and a cash raffle drawing at 2 p.m.

Marla Thissen says there’s only a few raffle tickets left for the cash drawing as they only sell 300 of them at $50 each and the top prize is $5,000. She says the funds they’ve been raising over the years have been used for cleaning up the lake, for various amenities at the boat landing, and after the first year of their fundraiser, they worked on getting an aerator which is installed during the winter months.

Thissen says the aerator requires on-going costs such as electricity and permits each year, and they’ve added a mini-biff at the boat landing, have garbage pick up, and are looking at maybe adding a gazebo in the future. She says the picnic is a family-friendly event and there will be lots of door prizes for children.

Kyle Joramo says they usually get between 80 and 100 kids at their picnics and they are giving away two life-time fishing licenses to the kids. He says they’ve received lots of donations from area businesses for the adult door prize drawings.
