St. John Lutheran Church Oktober Feast

The 21st annual St. John Lutheran Church Oktober Feast will be in the Atwater Community Center on Sunday from 4:30-to-7 p.m. Those attending will enjoy all kinds of authentic German foods and old-time music.

Jeanna Lilleberg says they serve about 300 people each year during the dinner and the dishes include pork hocks, meat balls, bratwurst, sauerkraut, hot potato salad, spätzle, red cabbage, pickled beets, deviled eggs, liverwurst, blood sausage, head cheese, hard crust rolls, dessert and home-made root beer from MN Beer. She says the cost is $20 per person and $6 for children 5-to-12 and the proceeds are donated to local organizations.

Lilleberg says a lot of items for the dinner are donated which enables them to donate more of their proceeds to the Atwater Area Help for Seniors, Grove City Area CARE program and to the St. John Youth group. She says there will be old-time music by the Wendinger Band from New Ulm, and there is an area for people to dance.
