Structure Fire in Forest City Township

On May 14th at 6:14 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a structure fire in the 65000 block of 340^th Street in Forest City Township. Meeker County Deputies arrived and found a 30’ x 50’ shed was fully engulfed in flames. The Litchfield Fire Department and Watkins Fire Department were able to contain the fire before it could spread to nearby structures. The owners, Steven Hendrickson and Cindy Hendrickson were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be from a lightning strike. The shed and equipment inside were a total loss.
