Structure Fire in Forest City Township

On Saturday night at 9:20, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire in the 67000 block of 330 Stree in Forest City Township. Meeker County Deputies, Litchfield Fire Department, Watkins Fire Department, and Watkins Ambulance responded to the scene. Upon arrival, deputies saw a two-story house that was almost fully engulfed. The property is owned by 79-year-old Karen Marsh and was unoccupied at the time of the fire. It was determined that a family member of the property owner was there earlier burning items in a pit that was close to the house, which is believed to have ignited the house. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
