Work Session Narrows Down Candidate List for County Administrator Position

The Meeker County Board of Commissioners held a special work session on Tuesday to narrow down a list of candidates for the County Administrator position. Andrew Letson will be leaving that post next month (after 5 years) to become the County Administrator of Stearns County.

Pat Melvin of David Drown Associates Human Resources of Minneapolis has been assisting the Meeker County Board with the recruitment process and attended the workshop yesterday. He had the Commissioners refer to each candidate by a number rather than a name as the names were not public during this phase of the process.

Melvin said there were 10 semi-finalists, but 3 withdrew, which left a list of 7 for the Commissioners to rank. The commissioners came up with a list of 4 finalists and they will be interviewed the morning of October 16th and those interviews are open for the public to attend. Melvin says each interview will be scheduled to last 50-minutes and when they are complete, the Commissioners will deliberate throughout the afternoon. Letson’s final official day with Meeker County will be October 14th.
