The Meeker County Museum and G.A.R. Hall has been hosting a scavenger and egg hunt the past couple of weeks. People – especially children are welcome to stop in to the museum at 308 North Marshall Avenue in Litchfield for a fun activity during spring break – leading up to Easter.
Museum Executive Director Danelle Erickson says there is no Civil War Roundtable this month at the G.A.R. Hall as the Civil War Symposium will be coming up on April 25th in Bloomington, but the Civil War Roundtable will resume the second Thursday in May at 1:30 p.m. She says the Sons of the Civil War are honoring the last Union veterans buried in each county in Minnesota and there will be a ceremony at Lake Ripley Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. on April 25th.
Erickson says the annual Memorial Day Picnic will be coming up on May 25th at the Litchfield Opera House and the Museum will also be open that day. She says the Meeker County Museum is usually open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10-to-4 and Saturdays from noon-to-4 and for more information, you can go to meekercomuseum.org.
