Civil War Roundtable Meeting

The G.A.R. Hall and Meeker County Museum will be hosting its monthly Civil War Roundtable meeting on Thursday, October 9th at 1:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend, but non-members are asked to make a $3 contribution.

G.A.R. Hall and Meeker County Museum Executive Director Danelle Erickson says she will be the guest speaker this time. She says she will be talking about one of the charter members of the G.A.R. Hall in Litchfield – T.H. Pendergast who served in the Civil War.

Erickson says Pendergast was very opinionated and humorous, but was part of Sherman’s March to the Sea and wrote about the horrors of the war. She says the Meeker County Historical Society is getting its annual meeting organized for December.

Erickson says most of their school tours are in the spring, but they’ve had some home school groups this fall and they are open for tours any time. She says the Meeker County Museum at 308 North Marshall Avenue in Litchfield is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 10-to-4 and on Saturdays from noon-to-4.
