Adam Stern LHS Hall of Fame Inductee
Tonight’s Litchfield High School Hall of Fame induction includes four past Litchfield High School graduates – William Michael O’Fallon from the class of 1952, Marcia Curtis Provencher from the class of 1966, Jon Lovald from the class of 1989, and Adam Stern from the class of 2001.
Adam Stern says he was mostly involved in the arts while in high school – theater, band, and choir, but was in tennis his senior year, and was also involved in student council, yearbook, Spanish Club, and Target which is an anti-chemical youth group. He says he attended Minnesota State University – Mankato where he majored in public relations and minored in theater.
Stern says he always wanted to work in entertainment, so moved to Los Angeles after college and met someone at church who worked at CBS and got him an interview. He says he worked as an assistant and worked his way up to a role in publicity – helping to pitch TV shows and to find talent.
Stern says, during the pandemic, he got an offer from Disney to do publicity so he is currently a publicity coordinator for Disney Branded Television. He says he continues to enjoy being involved in theater and has returned to Litchfield many summers to star in Litchfield Community Theatre productions, and his favorite was probably last summer’s production of “Joseph and the Amazaing Technicolor Dreamcoat” where he was in the title role of Joseph.
Stern says he’s been in about 12 Litchfield Community Theatre productions, starting with “Cinderella.” He says he credits Val Chellin for casting him as Peter Pan in a youth theatre production – his very first role – which got him hooked on theater. Stern sings in a couple of church choirs in L.A. – at Sherman Oaks Lutheran Church and Bel Air Presbyterian Church. He says his family has been so supportive of everything he’s tried to accomplish, and he loved growing up in Litchfield which has so much to offer – he got a great education and had great teachers who gave him the confidence to go out in the world and accomplish his goals.
