Algae Bloom Advisory Issued for Diamond Lake
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District, is alerting residents and visitors to Diamond Lake – north of Atwater – about the presence of red cyanobacteria algae bloom in the lake. It was detected in the lake and can pose health risks to humans and are potentially fatal to pets and other animals.
As a precautionary measure, property owners and visitors to Diamond Lake are advised to exercise caution. The situation will continue to be monitored and officials will release new information as it’s available.
