Aquatic Invasive Species Course

An Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) course is being offered for anyone who wants to become a certified aquatic invasive species detector. It’s a self-paced course which takes about 8 hours, and you also need to attend a live workshop.
The AIS Detectors Core Course is an introduction to aquatic invasive species science, identification, and surveillance. You will learn how to identify and report invasive species, best practices for preventing the spread of AIS, relevant rules and regulations, and how to search for AIS on your own.
The costs of the training are covered by Meeker County’s AIS program and lunch is included. The deadline to register is June 9th. You can find a link at learning.umn.edu or contact Ariana Richardson for more details at ariana.richardson@co.meeker.mn.us.
