Atwater Threshing Show is This Weekend
The Atwater Threshing Show will be held this weekend – Saturday and Sunday – from 7-to-4 each day. The site is just east of Atwater, and about a mile south of Highway 12 on the Kandi-Meeker Road.
Adam Bosch says the featured tractor this year is Allis Chalmers and the feature in the Gas Engine Alley is Economy – a brand sold by Sears. He says there’s a tractor parade each day at 1 p.m. and there’s something for everyone to see.
Bosch says a lot of vintage cars are also displayed at the Atwater Threshing Show by members of the Atwater Car Club and others from the area. He says there are all kinds of demonstrations like threshing, corn shelling, sawmilling and more which show how farm work was done in the 1920s and 1930s with lots of manual labor.
Bosch says needle art will be featured in the Pioneer Building and there will be quilting, rug looming and other crafts demonstrated. He says there will be bluegrass and Gospel music each day – with Monroe Crossing scheduled for Sunday from 2-to-4 p.m. There’s a kid’s pedal pull Sunday at 11 a.m., a worship service Sunday at 8 a.m., food served by the Atwater Lions Club and more.
