City Council Approves Items From the Planning Commission
The Litchfield City Council approved of a couple of items from the Planning Commission on Monday evening including a future land use map amendment, rezoning and site plan review for property at 221 West 11th Street. The former Immanuel Lutheran Church will be converted into an 8-unit apartment complex.
Mayor Ron Dingmann says Ryan Blad and Jared Nelson needed to have the property rezoned from R1 to R3, and down the road, it’s possible that another apartment building will be constructed at the site. He says the Council also approved of numerous resolutions for Meeker Memorial Hospital which will allow the $50-million enhancement project there to move forward.
Mayor Dingmann says the Council also approved of a couple of items from the Personnel Committee including a job description and internal posting of the Golf Course manager position. He says a resolution was also approved to rewrite the description of the City Planner position to include a number of duties.
Mayor Dingmann says the Council set the city-wide clean-up day for May 16th from 8-to-10:30 a.m., but the location is pending approval from the school district as they are hoping to use the parking area east of the football field since a motorcycle event is taking place that same day at the Civic Arena. He says the Council will have a work session at 1 p.m. on April 7th with the Planning Commission and the HRA to discuss future development, and another work session on April 20th at 1 p.m. to talk about contracted services and community priorities.
