Dinner on the Dairy
The Meeker County American Dairy Association has its Dinner on the Dairy on Saturday from 5:30-to-8 p.m. at CoJo Dairy. The farm is northwest of Grove City at 51036 310th Street.
Heather Thyen says there will be grilled cheese sandwiches, chips, cookie and milk for freewill donations and root beer floats for $1. She says proceeds from the root beer float sales will go to the ACGC FFA program and to the Meeker Area Food Shelf.
Thyen says there will be activities for kids such as a coloring contest and butter-making. She says people will be able to tour the farm and see the milking parlor and calves on the 3-generation farm where 12-to-13-hundred cows are milked three times a day.
Thyen says the dairy ambassadors and princesses will be at Dinner on the Dairy – including Paige Frenchick who is a finalist for Princess Kay of the Milky Way. She says people can look at the Meeker County American Dairy Association Facebook page where there will be information about the possibility of a bus taking people to the State Fair on August 20th for the Princess Kay pageant.
Thyen says the princesses and ambassadors will be visiting libraries, nursing homes and assisted living facilities during June Dairy month – handing out cheese samples. She says they will also appear in area parades this summer on their new float.
