Eden Valley Blood Drive is Today
A blood drive is being held today at Assumption Catholic Church in Eden Valley from noon to 6 p.m. The American Red Cross has been urgently asking for donors to attend bloodmobiles this winter as there’s been a shortage of blood.
Bonnie Meyer has been coordinating the blood drives in Eden Valley for many years and says she donates herself whenever she can and has donated about 10-gallons up to this point in her life. She says there are people who cannot donate for various reasons so it’s good to donate if you can, and as she needed blood herself a few years ago, she sure appreciated the time that someone took to donate the blood she needed.
Meyer says when you donate, you need to bring your Red Cross card, driver’s license or some form of I.D. and if you do the Rapid Pass, it speeds up the donation process, but it usually only takes about an hour. If you have any questions, you may call Bonnie at 320-282-1468.
There are more blood drives coming up including at the Atwater Community Center this Thursday from noon-to-6 p.m., at Hope Central Christian Church Thursday from 1-to-7, at the Litchfield Area Recreation Center on Friday from 8-to-2, and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City on February 2nd from noon-to-6 p.m. To make appointments, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org.
