EV-W School District Homecoming Activities
Students and staff in the Eden Valley-Watkins School District are getting ready for homecoming activities next week. The festivities will begin with the Coronation and Variety Show on Sunday evening at 7 o’clock in the Eden Valley-Watkins High School Peps Newman Gym.
Monday is “Dress Up” day as each class will wear a different color including: seniors – black, juniors – pink, sophomores – blue, freshmen – white, 8th grade – orange, 7th grade – red, and the staff will wear gray. A bean bag tournament begins on Monday, cross-country will be at Raymond at 4:15, JV football will be versus Kimball at 4:30, and the Powder Puff football game will be at the football field at 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s dress up theme will be “neon” day; the bean bag tournament continues on Tuesday; JV volleyball will be at 5:30 versus New London-Spicer; and varsity volleyball will be against New London-Spicer at 7 p.m. The dress up theme for Wednesday will be “Wacky Wednesday” and there will be pizza and ice cream sundaes; and the bean bag tournament continues.
The dress up theme for Thursday, October 9th will be “camo” and the bean bag tournament continues. JV volleyball versus Maple Lake will be at 5:30; varsity volleyball versus Maple Lake will be at 7 p.m. The pep fest in the high school gym will be at 2:55. The FFA will have a pork chop sandwich sale during the volleyball game.
On Friday, October 10th the dress up theme at Eden Valley-Watkins will be “Extreme Eagle Spirit.” The bean bag tournament will conclude. There will be a homecoming cook-out lunch. The homecoming parade is at 2:35 p.m. The float units will include the fire and rescue, band, homecoming court, JHS, FFA, and student council officers. Friday will conclude with the FFA contest and the football game against Kimball at 7 p.m.
The Eden Valley-Watkins king and queen candidates include: Natalie Vossen, Autumn Davies, Ella Dockendorf, Samantha Larson, Ruby Hesse, Preston Langer, Carter Ertl, Tyler Schutz, Aiden Brutger, and Hunter Bates.
The under classmen homecoming attendants include: juniors – Madelyn Thielen, Isabella Rausch, Trace Krapf and Matthew Haglund; sophomores – Angeline Elsola, Jaci Listerud, Matthew Heuring and Connor Lang; and freshmen – Abigail Ludwig, Tess Hiltner, Jase Rohrbeck and George Landwehr.
