Fatal Crash in Acoma Township

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a fatal crash Thursday morning at 10 o’clock on MN Highway 7 at Vale Avenue in Acoma Township in McLeod County. A 2019 Ford Ecosport was eastbound on Highway 7 and a 2019 Ford F550 was westbound when they collided on the snowy roadway near Vale Avenue.

The Ecosport was driven by 77-year-old Audrey Patricia Lankey of Hutchinson. She was taken to the Hutchinson Hospital and died from her injuries. The F550 was driven by 29-year-old Matthew Paul Alberts of Eden Prairie. He received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Hutchinson Hospital. Also responding to the scene were the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Hutchinson Police Dept., Hutchinson Fire Dept. and Allina Ambulance.
