Meeker County Man Charged for Illegal Gun Possession

On Sunday afternoon at 2:15, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 23400 block of 650th Avenue in Darwin Township. The Sheriff’s Office received information that the owner of the property, 71-year-old Michael Homann, was in possession of firearms, and his criminal history shows that he is disqualified from possessing firearms.

Eighteen firearms were recovered along with consistent with methamphetamine use. Homann was arrested and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and User of Controlled Substance in Possession of a Firearm. Homann made his first court appearance on Monday, and was conditionally released by the court on his own recognizance. The CEE-VI Drug & Gang Task Force assisted with the investigation.
