Forest City Threshers Show
The Forest City Threshers Show is coming up this Saturday and Sunday from 8-to-5 each day. Minneapolis-Moline and Twin City Tractors are the featured equipment this year and there are lots of new items to see.
Frank Berg says there’s a parade each day at 11 a.m., an antique tractor pull Saturday at noon, a kids pedal pull on Sunday at 10:30, a garden tractor pull Sunday at 2, a breakfast each day from 7:30-to-9:30, a roast beef dinner from 11-to-2 each day, along with hamburger, taco and malt stands and a beer garden. He says lots of work has taken place this past year on the depot building and it’s nearing completion.
Berg says there will be a working telegraph system; there’s an office, 1st aid station and memorabilia station; and the women’s activity building is complete – except for the restroom there. He says the Eden Valley Tractor Club will be demonstrating their backing and teeter totter skills on Saturday morning from 8:30-to-10:30.
Butch Schulte says there have been so many improvements and additions to the Forest City Threshing grounds in the past 5 or 6 years, so if you haven’t been there in a while, you’ll want to check it out. He says one of the new items this year is a sunflower maze.
Schulte says Dave Jutz is probably their biggest collector of Minneapolis-Moline equipment. He says admission to the show is $5 and it’s free for children 12 and under.
