Forest City Threshers Show is this Weekend
The 37th annual Forest City Threshers show is this weekend – August 16th and 17th – from 8-to-5 each day. Ford is the featured equipment this year – which will include Ford, Fordson, Ferguson, Massey Harris, Massey Ferguson and Model-T Ford cars.
Forest City Threshers President Dale Groskruetz says exhibitors of any equipment are welcome to display, but the items in the main feature building will be Ford. He says a tractor pull will be held after the 12 o’clock parade each day, and the tractor pull on Sunday will be a 1959 and older stock tractor pull.
Groskreutz says there’s also a kid’s pedal pull on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and a garden tractor pull after Sunday’s parade. He says the Ladies Activity Building will have rug-making and other activities from the early 1900s, and the Depot Building is sporting a fresh coat of paint.
Dave Jutz says the inside of the Depot Building keeps improving and they have a man from Cosmos who’s getting a telephone and telegraph system going. He says they also have a unique model railroad display.
Jutz says if anyone is willing to operate the model railroad, they should call Dale at 320-894-8379. The Forest City Threshing Show also includes an ag-related cast iron display this year, tractor driving skills by the Eden Valley Tractor Club and much more. There’s breakfast each day from 7:30-to-9:30 a.m., a roast beef dinner each day from 11-to-2 and several food stands. You can find more details on the Forest City Threshers Facebook page.
