Free Trunk or Treat Event This Sunday
A free Trunk or Treat event is coming up on Sunday, October 27th, in the parking lot between the Meeker County Fairgrounds and Litchfield High School on East 10th Street from 3-to-5 p.m. Bring a non-perishable item for the Food Shelf.
Robbie Brown says several businesses, churches and service clubs will have vehicles there with treats to hand out to children. She says more than 30 of them registered this year to participate and people attending the event are asked to bring items for the Meeker Area Food Shelf.
Brown says besides candy, children are likely to receive trinkets and some healthy items too. She says there are several churches in the area that will have trunk or treat events on Halloween – including the Litchfield Christian Church and Litchfield United Methodist Church.
Janaye Prieve says the Trunk or Treat event in Litchfield on Sunday will likely bring a lot of people into Litchfield which is one of the goals of the Litchfield Visitors Bureau. She says you could make it a day to visit Litchfield and visit the Pumpkin Patch Festival at the Nelson Farm as Sunday is the last day that it will be open for the season.
Prieve says there is a haunted pub crawl in Watkins on Saturday. She says there is always plenty to do in the Litchfield area, and they are looking forward to the Light up Litchfield event on November 30th.
Prieve says the Litchfield Downtown Council is promoting National Frankenstein Friday this Friday, October 25th, from 3-to-5 p.m. as kids can get a map at the Fire Hall and then look for participating businesses with a ghost in their window for trick or treating, followed by adult trick or treating events at participating businesses from 6-to-9 p.m. Friday.
