G.A.R. Hall & Museum December Events
The annual meeting of the Meeker County Historical Society was held last night at the G.A.R. Hall in Litchfield. Due to the meeting, some of the monthly events at the museum have been shuffled a bit for December, but the schedule will return to normal in January.
Museum Director Danelle Erickson says the Genealogy Hour, which is usually the first Thursday of the month, will be held next Thursday, December 12th, at 5:30 p.m., and then on January 2nd, and there will be no Civil War Roundtable this month. She says it’s usually held on the second Thursday of the month at 1:30, so the next one will be on January 9th.
Erickson says the Meeker County Museum will be closed between Christmas and New Years and you can find more details at meekercomuseum.org. She says donations to the Museum would be much appreciated and may be sent to 308 North Marshall Avenue in Litchfield.
The G.A.R. Hall will host the Litchfield Area Writers Group tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock as members will read selections from the new book, “Home.” Everyone’s welcome to the program and refreshments will be served afterwards.
