January is National Mentorship Month
January is National Mentorship Month. The Litchfield Area Mentorship Program (LAMP) has some special activities planned for the mentors and mentees in the program.
Judy Hulterstrum says the people involved in LAMP will have a special movie event at the Hollywood Theater in downtown Litchfield in which they will all get a free ticket and a voucher for the concession stand so they can watch a movie together. She says they will also have a special Mentor Night during the girls’ basketball game at Litchfield High School on January 30th when their rival will be Dassel-Cokato.
Hulterstrum says they may schedule a chili fundraiser sometime in February and then they will be getting ready for Ham Bingo at the end of March. She says there are not as many grants available right now as in the past which is making her job more challenging as she tries to ramp up the fundraising events and seek more donations, but they did get a grant from Meeker County.
Hulterstrum says they are always looking for more mentors – and anyone can be a mentor – and they will find it very rewarding. She says if you’re willing to make a donation to LAMP, checks may be mailed to Post Office Box 82 in Litchfield and there is also a donation link on their website at lampkinship.org.
