Kimball 3-Vehicle Crash

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to a 3-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon at 2:17 at the intersection of Highways 15 and 55 in Kimball. A 2002 Mercury Sable, driven by 84-year-old Richard Gerald Carlson of Litchfield, was southbound on Highway 15. A 2019 Dodge Ram pick-up, driven by 29-year-old Nicole Marie Sawatzke of Elk River, was eastbound on Highway 55. A 2013 Ford Explorer, driven by 50-year-old Chad Allen Bielke of Hutchinson, was northbound on Highway 15.

Bielke was not injured. Sawatzke was not injured, but 3 passengers in her vehicle from Kimball – ages 8, 5 and 1 – received non-life-threatening injuries. Carlson received non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. The Sable and Ram collided in the intersection and then the Sable struck the Explorer. Also responding to the scene were the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Kimball Fire Dept., and Watkins Ambulance.
