Kraut’n Wurst Celebration

The annual Kraut ‘n’ Wurst celebration is coming up this weekend in Watkins. The activities begin Friday evening and continue through Saturday.

The medallion hunt will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and the beer and hamburger stand will be open from 5:30-to-10 p.m. Other Friday evening events in Watkins include the Little Miss Watkins pageant at 7:30 in the park and the Cow Drop at 9 p.m.

Saturday morning activities in Watkins include a 5K run at 7:30, bloody Mary bar from 9-to-1, the parade at 10:30 and a kids petting zoo. Lazer tag will be from 11:30-to-7:30. There’s a kids fest in Watkins Saturday from 12-to-3; a bean bag tournament at 1 p.m., moon walk from 1-to-6 p.m.; kid’s tractor pull at 1:30 and free ice cream donated by the Lions at 1:30 p.m.

There will be a frog race at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon in Watkins. Frogs will be provided, or you can bring your own. There will be a brat eating contest at 4 p.m. Saturday. Todd Hurst will perform in Watkins Saturday evening from 7:30-to-9:15 and Mitch Gordon & the Unleaded Band will play from 9:30-to-12:30 Saturday night in Watkins.
