LAMP Getting Ready With Fall Activities
The Litchfield Area Mentorship Program has had a busy summer – which included an event during a Blues baseball game, and the 1st annual Great LAMP Adventure at the Meeker County Fair. The organization will have a booth at the Songs of Summer Festival at Memorial Park in Litchfield tomorrow evening selling dirty sodas, water and popcorn.
Judy Hulterstrum says the dirty sodas, which contain a flavored syrup, soda pop and cream – are very popular. She says the Great LAMP Adventure at the fair was made possible with a donation from Walmart and they gave away a bicycle and gift cards, and they are looking forward to having the event again next year.
Hulterstrum says the Lunch Buddies program will begin again soon as students head back to school and they are adding ACGC to the program, so lunch buddies will be held two times a month – on Tuesdays at Lake Ripley Elementary in Litchfield, Wednesdays at ACGC Elementary in Atwater and Thursdays at Dassel Elementary School. She says it’s a great way to give certain students a little pick-me-up.
Hulterstrum says regular mentors are always needed, and if anyone is willing to get involved in the program, they may call her at 320-699-1616 or at info@lampkinship.org. She says there will be a new program coordinator starting soon, and they are getting ready for their fall fundraisers including the holiday planters and Turkey Bingo.
