LAMP Looking for Mentors

The Litchfield Area Mentorship Program will be in area parades, at the Meeker County Fair and at the Songs of Summer Festival this summer. Members of the program will be in Litchfield’s Central Park on June 22nd serving a meal during Thriving Thursdays.

Jenna Haynie says Shady’s donated buns for the pork sandwiches that they’ll be serving and Subway donated cookies for the June 22nd meal in Central Park. She says they have youth on a waiting list, so more mentors are needed to give them a little extra support in their lives.

Haynie says it’s an easy process to apply to be a mentor – just go to lampkinship.org. She says she contacts the applicants, does a home interview and a background check, and then matches the mentor to a young person with common interests.
