LHS Marching Band Had a Successful Season
The Litchfield High School Marching Band has had a busy month of marching in parades and participating in other events. The band members left for the Wisconsin Dells yesterday, returning July 4th, and then march in their final parade of the season – the Litchfield Watercade parade on July 8th at 6 p.m.
Some of the parades of this past month were exhibition-only, but the Dragons got their first Grand Champion award in Benson with a score of 72.6 and also received the Best Color Guard award and Peoples’ Choice. The band received the Peoples’ Choice award in Montevideo, and got first place in Class-A, Peoples’ Choice, Best Color Guard and Best Drumline in Waconia.
Litchfield got the Grand Champion award in Hutchinson – with a score of 82.9 – and Best Color Guard. The Band took first place in Class-A in Lake City, along with Best Drumline, Color Guard and Drum Major. In the Band’s final competitive parade of the month in Roseville, they took first place in Class-A, Best Overall Color Guard, and Grand Champion with a score of 80.4.
