LHS Marching Band Has Successful Parade Season

Members of the Litchfield High School Marching Band are beginning a week-long cruise today to the Bahamas. The band performed at the Litchfield Blues baseball game this past Wednesday evening. The band has had a very successful parade season this past month.
The band began the month of June with band camp which included the annual sneak peek on June 4th. The first parade of the season for the Litchfield High School Marching Band was in Albertville on June 9th where they received one superior and 3 excellent ratings. The band marched last during the Parade of Bands in Litchfield on June 11th as the ten visiting bands preceded them down Armstrong Avenue, 5th Street and Gilman Avenue.
The band received the grand champion and people’s choice awards in Benson on June 14th; took first place in Class-A and second place overall in Waconia on June 15th; got grand champion in Hutchinson on June 16th; took first place in Class-A in Foley on June 19th; received an excellent rating in Sauk Rapids on June 21st; and ended their competitive season on June 24th in Roseville with a grand champion award, along with taking first place in Class-AA.
The Litchfield High School Marching Band has its last parade of the season in Litchfield on July 13th. The Watercade parade begins that evening at 6 p.m. It will be the last chance this year to see the band’s award-winning “Big Top” show.
