Litchfield City Council Covers Many Agenda Items

The Litchfield City Council had a lengthy meeting Monday evening with lots of agenda items covered. The Council approved of wage increases that were forwarded from the Personnel Committee.
Mayor Ron Dingmann says the Council had approved of union contracts back in January, but pay increases were approved on Monday night for full-time non-contract employees, part-time employees and fire/rescue pay schedules were also approved for 2025, 2026 and 2027.
Mayor Dingmann says another personnel matter was hiring Holly Johnson from the National Independent Health Club Association to help with getting the initial staff hired for the Litchfield Area Recreation Center. He says the Council will get a tour of the new building and see the construction progress on April 7th at 4:30 p.m. – prior to the next Council meeting.
Mayor Dingmann says the Council declared a vacancy for the Ward 5 Council position as Sara Miller has resigned. He says she represented her constituents well and will be dearly missed. Applications for the Ward 5 seat will be accepted through April 15th at 4:30 p.m. at City Hall and interviews will be conducted at the April 21st Council meeting.
Mayor Dingmann says, among the other business, that summer hours for City Hall were set for Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8-to-4:30 and Fridays from 8-to-1. He says the winter hours will be the same, except the office will be open on Fridays until 2 p.m. The Council also approved of advertising for a wastewater position due to a pending retirement.
