Litchfield City Council Meeting
The Litchfield City Council approved of a couple of items last night that were forwarded from the Planning Commission. One of them which required several resolutions pertained to the $50-million dollar expansion project at Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics.
City Planner Hannah Rybak led the Council through the information related to the preliminary and final plat, vacation of existing alleys and easements, rezoning parts of the property from R2 to B1, the site plan review and variances for Meeker Memorial Hospital at 612 South Sibley Avenue, 700 South Sibley Avenue, 25 West Lockerbie Street and 109 West Lockerbie Street.
The vacation issue required a public hearing, so that was held in the midst of Rybak’s presentation, and then a first reading of an ordinance for the vacation of alleys and easements was approved for the hospital property. The Council also approved of a future land use map amendment, rezoning from R1 to R3 and a site plan review for Ryan Blad and Jared Nelson for the former Immanuel Lutheran Church property at 221 West 11th Street as the building will be converted into an 8-unit apartment complex.
The Council approved of a job description last night for the golf course management position and to post the position internally; and approved of posting and rewriting the city planner position. The Litchfield City Council also set the city clean-up day for May 16th from 8-to-10:30 a.m. – and in a new location – the parking lot east of the High School football field.
