Litchfield School approves Pool Renovation Project

The Litchfield School has approved of a renovation project for the swimming pool at Litchfield High School. Ebert Companies will do the project for $453,300.

Superintendent Susan Burris says representatives of Wold Architects & Engineers attended the Monday night School Board meeting and talked about the project which will include the filtration system, tile cleaning and starting blocks. She says the work will be done after the swimming season – starting in November for the pool which is a valuable asset for both the school and the community.

Burris says this year’s Student Council representatives – Kayla Ziegler and Kelsey Palmer – attended Monday’s School Board meeting and spoke about their successful blood drive and about Dragon (homecoming) Week in September. She says staff members have been back in the school buildings this week, getting ready for their students to return next week.

Burris says Malinda and Peter Larson spoke to staff on Tuesday which was followed by a luncheon and then tours of the LARC. She says one of the big summer building projects – the Students with Unique Needs room at Lake Ripley Elementary School – has been completed.

Burris says there are about 4 new teachers in each building this year and they were welcomed last Thursday and met with their mentors. She says students will be returning to classes in shifts next Tuesday and Wednesday, but all students will be back to school on September 4th and the technology department has their devices all ready.
