Litchfield School Board Hears an Update on Survey Results
The Litchfield School Board heard an update Monday evening on the surveys that took place earlier this winter regarding future needs in the District. Residents who participated in the surveys generally had positive things to say about the Litchfield School District.
Superintendent Susan Burris says 655 people participated in the survey that was offered online and there was also a scientific survey as 400 people had telephone interviews. She says the information that was gleaned will help the District determine future plans.
Burris says even though various building projects and improvements were made in recent years, there are other needs that are coming up. She says she will present a recommendation to the School Board by late April about possibly going to voters with an operating levy and/or a building referendum in November and the Board would have to decide by June what the questions on the ballot would ask.
Burris says she also spoke to the Board on Monday evening about the on-going bullying issue, and if anyone has concerns, they need to reach out to the administration. She says the Board approved increases, effective April 1st, for the Driver’s Education rates. Next week is spring break in the Litchfield School District, and then the spring sports schedule begins. Graduation is coming up on May 30th.
