Litchfield School District Ballot Questions
The Litchfield School Board will get its annual audit report on November 9th from Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing. Business Manager Jesse Johnson says the audit team spent the week of September 28th in the District Office.
Johnson says the Litchfield School District will have a couple of questions on the ballot for voters to consider next Tuesday – a $415 per pupil levy increase, and a $15.4-million building referendum. He says the money from the referendum would help address several building improvements that are needed.
Johnson says all voters in the state of Minnesota will see a question on their ballot regarding the permanent school fund which would increase the amount of money for schools from the land trust and does not affect your property taxes, and if you leave it blank, it counts as a “no” vote. He says this would provide about an additional $40,000 per year for the Litchfield School District. Johnson says there are also 3 names of candidates that will appear on the ballot for 3 Litchfield School Board seats. He says there are lots of fall sports wrapping up their seasons with playoffs this weekend; the fall “High School Musical” is in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium October 29th, 30th and 31st at 7 p.m. and November 1st at 2 p.m.; and the Boo Bash will be at the Litchfield Area Recreation Center on Saturday from 9-to-11 a.m. for children 6th grade and younger.
