Litchfield School District Busy with Activities

The Litchfield School District is bustling with activities. Superintendent Susan Burris says there are numerous activities coming up in each building in February, and she reviewed many of the activities that she’s been involved in over the past month.
Burris says she toured the Litchfield Area Recreation Center last week with construction trade students as ICS is working with the students to provide some hands-on learning opportunities. She says the staff had a professional development day on January 20th with motivational speaker Cindra Kamphoff of Mankato who spoke to staff last August and will return this coming August.
Burris says she will be meeting with staff in each building for lunch over the next month or so in an event she calls “Soup with the Super.” She says the School Resource Officer Aaron Nelson has been involved in the Administration team meetings as they continue to review the crisis management plan.
Burris says Lake Ripley Elementary students will be involved in I Love to Read and Read Across America in February; Middle School students just wrapped up a great Knowledge Bowl season and are enjoying a Harry Potter event today; and High School students will have a visit from the Alabama guests next Tuesday during the Peanut Butter & Milk Festival and will have Snow Week in February. She says the Litchfield High School Choir will perform on Feb. 14th at the Minnesota Music Teachers convention.
