Meeker County Board Meeting
The Meeker County Board of Commissioners received an update on Tuesday from Meeker Memorial Hospital officials. It was the last meeting for CEO Kurt Waldbillig who is leaving Meeker Memorial Hospital as of October 1st.
County Administrator Andrew Letson thanked Waldbillig for his years of service as Meeker Memorial CEO. Waldbillig says the last 3 years were kind of crazy (due to the pandemic), but he said “hats off to the staff.” He says they will be in good hands with the interim leadership. CFO Nicole Siegner says year-to-date net income at Meeker Memorial Hospital as of the end of July was 1-point-3-million dollars.
The Meeker County Board of Commissioners has accepted a donations for the Sheriff’s Office drone program in the amount of $5,000 from US Charitable Gift Trust and for $1,000 from Randy’s Towing. The Board approved of a grant program with the Minnesota Department of Veteran’s Affairs for $10,000 which will be used to offset costs associated with the Veterans Service Office. The 2023 Drug Court contract was approved, and $70,000 in grant funds was accepted from the Office of Justice Programs to fund the Victims Services office.
In other matters, the Meeker County Commissioners approved of a memorandum of agreement to add the classification and salary schedule of child support lead worker to the MNPEA Social Services collective bargaining agreement; approved of a lease agreement with New Beginnings Minnesota, LLC for space in the Family Services Center for $745.73 per month; and approved of rate increases to $46 per ton for in-county waste and $75 per ton for out of county waste at the Demolition Landfill as of October 1st.
