Meeker County Board Meeting
The Meeker County Board of Commissioners has approved of an agreement with Mn/DOT for the use of several County-State-Aid-Highways during the construction project on Highway 12 between Litchfield and Cokato this summer and in 2025. Mn/DOT will reimburse the County an estimated $37,408.93 for wear and tear on the county roads which will handle detoured traffic.
The roadways in the agreement are County-State-Aid-Highways 14, 34, 11, 21 and 4. The Commissioners also approved of letting dates presented by Public Works Director Phil Schmalz for an estimated 5-point-4-million-dollars-worth of highway construction projects for 2024.
The Meeker County Board approved of a conditional use permit for a landscaping project on Lake Stella for Ryan & Marlys Severance at 67404 County-State-Aid-Highway 33 in Ellsworth Township; approved of a conditional use permit for a new swine feedlot for Jonathan Kramer of Cosmos at 11177 570th Avenue in Section 30 of Cedar Mills Township; approved of an interim use permit for Knife River Corporation for aggregate mining in Section 1 of Greenleaf Township; and approved of an interim use permit for Knife River for a portable asphalt plant in Section 1 of Greenleaf Township.
The Meeker County Commissioners also approved of a donation of a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica from the Meeker County Veterans Council. The van is used for transporting veterans to medical appointments at the St. Cloud and Minneapolis VA Hospitals. A 2019 Dodge Caravan was totaled in an accident on December 6th and insurance money of $18,640 will go to Litchfield Chrysler Center to offset the remaining balance of the purchase.
